Dans cet article ( disponible à l'adresse http://edutella.jxta.org/ ) est décrit un projet sur les metadata appliquées au peer-to-peer. D'où le projet Open source EDUTELLA, construit autour des standards de metadata défini par le WWW principalement Ressource Description Framework et JXTA Framework. Cette infrastructure permet de connceter les "pairs" par des échanges de metdata au format RDF. Le service de requête est central avec un langage EDUTELLA query exchange (RDF-QUEL-i), un langage de requete non procédural basé sur es clauses de Horn Datalog.

Replication service (Providing data persistence / avaiability and workload balancing while maintaining data integrity and consistency)
Mapping service (translating between different metadata vocabulries to enable interoperabikity between different peers)
Mediation service (define views that join data from different metadata sources and reconcile conflcting and overlapping information)

Our vision is to provide the metadata services needed to enble interoperability between heterogenous JXTA applications. Oour first application will focus on a P2P network for exchange of educational resources (using shema like IEEE LOM, IMS and ADL SCORM to describe course materials)
